Galaxy Note 3 Verizon: Lollipop Update

Re: Lollipop is here...according to Verizon

seems snappier in reponse, but the bright colors and backgrounds are a bother to me, wish i could change the colors to a black and gray theme

I dislike having to hold the back key to get your multi window tray to open.

I don’t like when I get my notifications on my locked screen or on the bar on top, when it’s a text message it just says new message not the contacts name like it used too, can we change that??

Re: Lollipop is here...according to Verizon

If you have issues clear cache. If that doesnt work then do a factory reset. Also prepare for a million people who refuse to do a factory reset to complain about bugs and issues.

I unfortunately did all of that and my Clock app is busted. Now to find something else to set alarms with...

Running pretty good on my device. Haven't noticed difference in battery life but really snappy and looks good.

Agreed I hate how for example with snapchat when you get a snap a notification drops down with the persons name and that's it no other notification. No blinking led light or anything and then if you go and disable the notification you get absolutely no notifications at all.

Idk what anyone else thinks but 5.0 made the home screen uglier. Folders???? Really???

Well good luck to us all as VZ rolls the update out... In the DFW area and checked today: it's there and refused for now as am on a business trip; no time for a dysfunctional smartphone! I'll back up tonight then see with all the posts what my chances may be. Again, Good luck everybody... maybe NOW is a good time to b/u apps and data then clear cache prior to initiating the update?! Peace

I have a note 3 and note 4. With lollipop on the note 3 there isn't that much different between the two...

Re: Lollipop is here...according to Verizon

Manually checked for updates, prompted to install a pre-update, then update to Lollipop, and now I'm on 5.0. Update ran smoothly and fairly quickly.
So far, not seeing any problems. (Touch wood!)

My update went smoothly. I really like the new look. I can now once again move files to my external SD card, which for me is, alone, worth the price of admission to Lolipop.
I notice a definite improved smoothness and speed, when playing TempleRun. The look of the standard Samsung keyboard has changed. It's now much lighter in color, something I can probably get used to. I wish there were some user options to customize its appearance.

No more alphabetical list with letter tabs in the app drawer. Bummer!

Can someone tell me if the gallery app is still there or did the update kill it
Thanks

Thanks....I think when my tablet update to 5.0.2 or the 5.1 update killed it. Found app , think it is called kk gallery or something close to that and it kinda of restored most of it. But happy this update didn't kill it. Only leave you with the photos app.

I just took the update, it is definitely different than KitKat!
Running smoothly so far! I cleared the cache partition a couple of times. I'm sure it will take a while to see how it affects the battery life!
What happened to the widgets on the app page? Where do I find them?
A friend at work has a LG G4 on Verizon and his download a few days ago was Lollipop 5.0.1, I'm surprised our Note 3's got 5.0 ?
