Galaxy Note 3 - Way to change background color in Messages app?

Ok, I did some checking and the fields don't change from black, regardless of the background color I choose. I'm checking all my other settings now to see if any of them affect those field colors.

Thanks FAB, please let me know. My fields are white, yours are black. Yet we both have Note 3's and my phone says it has no current updates (Settings: System/About Phone: System Updates). And I'm not rooted, so updates would show if available. I don't get why mine are white and yours are black!

On a side note: You never did find a way to change the background of the convo LIST (the original thread question), right? (Just checking so I need to give up on that separate issue.)

So, I have two of these Note 3's - both Rogers versions. Just for you, I opened my spare one today, and without any updates or going online, went into the messaging app to check the color.

Low and behold, the two fields you mention are both black on mine, even before I changed the background. I am guessing there are different themes by carrier and/ or by phone type. There are many variations of the Note 3. Mine are 9008's.

My convo list is black, always. Doesn't change no matter what.

Yeah, I wish my KB looked like FBAs as well. Area around your text blocks are darker than mine as well. I have an ATT N900A. Hell I dont even have a flat black option. I have a carbon black option or a greyish dark option.

You can fix that - you have the option of taking a snapshot and using that for your background. Look at the icon on the bottom left. That allows you to use any other image, or the option take a picture and use that.

He is using swiftkey keyboard that's why it's black. Not the stock keyboard.

Is there a way to change the background color/style when viewing all conversations in the Messages app? Changing Background Style in Settings only changes the background within a conversation. It's a little jarring (and annoying) to go back and for between the two because the background in conversation view is white and my background within a conversation is the black/gray color.
