Re: Who is DEFINITELY buying the Note 4?

I will probably get it but not going to say for sure until they show us what it can do :).

Same here, I am particularly interested in the quality of the camera.

I was going to get it, but I have definitely ruled it out.

Re: Who is DEFINITELY buying the Note 4?

Ill probably end up waiting for Note 5. Quad HD display is nice but I'm more then happy with my Note 3. I'm off contract as well so I don't think it will be worth another 700$ right now. Like I said, more than happy with note 3

I have a GS4 and will be moving to the Note4...definitely.
Primarily for the larger screen.

Re: Who is DEFINITELY buying the Note 4?

I would expect the GN4 pricing to fall in line with the GN3 prices. Yes the specs went up a bit but its also been a year and that should generate some price parity and they have LG and apple to contend with.

I don't care if the back is plastic, wood or paper since it needs to be something other than metal to allow for NFC to work. Plus we all want a removable battery door and a microsd slot so there we have it.

I never use a phone without the Otterbox, so I don't care about the material or the looks of the phone. :)

The only thing that I wondering about is the ability to root the Note 4. It's getting harder and harder to root newer phones. I suspect one day we may see a phone that is 100% impossible to root. :(

Re: Who is DEFINITELY buying the Note 4?

Do you think there's any possibility of the Note 4 being released in the USA in September? :)

I pre-ordered my Note 2 which arrived in November 2012. I have completely enjoyed the 2, and I'm lonnnnging for a Note 4 asap!

I was going to say that you won't be able to have the Note 4 in your hands by end of September....

but then again, this year Apple will release big iPhones.... so Samsung may want to get the big
Note 4 out ASAP?

Re: Who is DEFINITELY buying the Note 4?

If Samsung is quick to act they could get it out in the US before end of September, but don't expect Verizon to do it until late October/November time frame, maybe T-Mo or AT&T will. Anything is possible given Samsung's results the last couple of quarters and the bigger iphones coming. Honestly the poor battery life on an iphone and the fact that they will only increase the battery size to compensate for the additional drain due to screen size just reinforces why I keep coming back to Android again and again, and again.

I'm with AT&T. Have an excellent plan that we don't want to give up: unlimited texting and calling with several GBs of internet for $110 (for two of us). Surely do wish Note 4 would own a 6" display but I read awhile back that the 4 would be the same size as the 3; does anyone know the display size for certain?

Supposedly some EU retailer outed the specs arleady. Leak Tips Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Specs | News & Opinion | PCMag.com

The smartphone, as listed by Erafone and reported by CNET, will come with a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED 1,440-by-2,560-pixel screen, 16-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization, and 4GB of memory.
It also looks like consumers will have the choice between a 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB handset, with the option to add a microSD card with up to 128GB of data.
Additional details come from Indonesian site teknoup.com, which published a screenshot of Erafone's product specs, including the Android 4.4.3 KitKat operating system and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor (with alternative versions running an Exynos 5433), plus Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capabilities.

I enjoy leaks like everyone else, but for a retailer to openly post it, I would suspect goes against an NDA they may have.

Is anybody expecting metal back now after seeing the alpha?

The Galaxy Alphas has the plastic back as well (if I read the reviews correctly) that and Samsung likes the removable battery and so do their customers. NFC is also an issue with metal battery doors, which is why the iphone doesn't have NFC, that and apple is lame and its not proprietary so they won't use it.

I'd actually prefer the leathery back. Metal will add weight and I feel I'd end up getting a case for it if it was metal.

I've never had a phablet before but I'm planning to have that cherry popped by the Note 4. Excited.

Has there been any mention of the Note 4 being waterproof? I would think so just because of the S5...but don't think I've seen any confirmation/leak of that in the rumors yet.

The S-Pen will make it difficult to seal the phone from water. Some think it will be a feature, but most don't. We will know soon enough.
