Galaxy note 9 5G

I heard T-Mobile be will be releasing their 5G network in some areas later this year or sometime next year

T-Mobile I know has announced they're working on it this year but I don't know if they announced they would actually launch them this year.

Verizon is the only one that I know that has confirmed 4 cities so far to have 5G by the end of this year.

Tmobile has barely rolled out the 600mhz yet. I hope they don't just jump right on 5g and leave everyone waiting for the 600 and 700 4g. Also they have horrible coverage on most rural areas I visit. I'd rather have decent coverage everywhere than really fast data in a handful of cities throughout the country.

This! I'd rather have Tmobile focus on improving coverage and speed over the next few years than focus on 5g.

The Note is not officially 5G, but it does have the capability of 5G speeds.
Every review that I've seen that mentions 5G says it doesn't have it.

What do you think 5G speeds are? Afaik it's still 1-10Gbps, which the Note 9 would be capped at 1 Gbps, right?

I dint know if it's capped but is supposed to be capable of 1Gbps. That's crazy fast, especially for a phone.

No. I know at the very least the S8 and newer like the Note 8 support LTE-U which AT&T calls AT&T Evolution but it's not really true 5G I believe. That's probably the possible 1Gbps bassplayrguy is talking about. But there are no true 5G phones out yet.

AT&T 5G Evolution Expands to 400+ Markets by the End of 2018

It's rolled out in limited areas like West Palm Beach near me but I don't believe I've ever run into it. The best I've gotten in my area has been around 229 Mbps in 4G LTE.

actually I heard Samsung devices are 5g ready

Yes. No real complaints with 4G in my area too with real average speed for me near 100Mbps. 5G will take another year or two to be widely available so I don't see the rush in getting a 5G phone while at the same time as more people get 5G, it will free up bandwidth on 4G and average speeds will go up IMO.

I don't have a problem with my 4G speeds. To me, 5G is irrelevant.

Y'all are slow... because my husband's Galaxy 8 Active did an update last week and is now 5G... soooo there's your answer

To be clear... AT&T 5G "Evolution"

Not true 5G but nice because it still is an enhanced 4G where speeds can be near 400 Mbps. It's suppose to be in some parts of West Palm for me but haven't run into yet.

Have you done speed tests when in 5GE area and show us what kind of speeds you're getting?
