Galaxy Note Pro 12.2: Logitech Keyboard Case

Re: Logitech Keyboard Case

I saw somewhere (I can't remember precisely where) that the Logitech case will be available 3/15. That said, from the photos I've seen of the Zagg case, I think it's worth waiting. While it's clearly the winner on thinness, the Logitech case just looks sturdier.

Re: Logitech Keyboard Case

I wonder when the Zagg will be shipping? I'm not sure I can wait a month and since I'm dumping my Surface Pro 2 I may end up getting both of these cases.

Re: Logitech Keyboard Case

The Zagg COVER-FIT one is in stock at some US Best Buys. I'm not sure if you're in the US or not. I'll be heading to a Best Buy tonight to check it out.

Yeah, I see one about 45 minutes away myself.... kinda tempting!

Re: Logitech Keyboard Case

Indeed. But I'll wait, not in a hurry. Gives me an excuse to keep playing with the onscreen keyboard. Plus, I'd rather have one back-lit.

Zagg keyboard is going back as it is not playing nice with my Zagg Invishield that Best Buy installed for me this past Monday evening. Right where the tablet sits in the tray on the keyboard it started popping up the screen protector and at $50 counting installation the keyboard is going back!

Re: Logitech Keyboard Case

I picked one up yesterday from Best Buy! I was in for something else, and to my surprise there was one just sitting there! The keyboard is LOVELY. My only criticism is, I wish it was backlit. Second criticism - closing and opening the case does NOT sleep/wake the tablet :-( The tablet slots in quite nicely though, I haven't tested to see how easily it comes out yet. The angle it holds the screen is not ideal for me when I'm lounging on the couch, but I suspect it's perfect for desk use, or if I sat up a bit straighter! I'll be able to play with it more over the next few days, but I like it much, much more than the Zagg, which I had returned fairly promptly.

Re: Logitech Keyboard Case

Just got mine an hour ago. They only showed at my local Best Buy stores today. I'll provide an update when I get home with the tablet to test it out.

Re: Logitech Keyboard Case

Anybody else having an issue when pressing the Shift and Spacebar at the same time? It seems to be causing issues and I'm not sure if it's a defect or "normal." It's basically the same function as if you are pressing FN+Space where it makes a language selection.

I see the same. Doesn't appear to really change anything, just pops up the English US keyboard.

Interesting. Issue is that when typing quickly, that causes spaces to get left out sometimes. Such as when I'm hitting shift to capitlize a letter, then space for the next word. Seems odd...

I get the same thing when I hit the shift and the space bar too. I have just started using my keyboard so I haven't got to do much typing on it but the keys feel great so far. I actually don't miss the auto on/off as I can open it and hit the Home button to wake it and I can hit the FN button and Lock key to shut the screen off before closing it. So that works great for me.

I guess I'm not a fast enough typer to experience the issue you are dealing with!

The Logitech case is hands down better than the Zagg by a longshot! It is much more sturdy, much more protected, and better quality overall. It's awesome! I returned my Zagg keyboard to Best Buy and bought this one this morning. Worth the extra 30 dollars and then some!

I don't get all the bashing of the Zagg keyboard. I have it and like it. It's weightless, eventhough the keys have a nice travel and I can type fast with it. It's not meant to be a folio and I prefer that. I didn't buy a laptop intentionally and don't want to use my tablet as one, which is what the Zagg allows you to do. I also don't want a folio (which is what the Logitech is), I like to use the tablet as a tablet with no flaps and all that nonesense and Zagg allows me to do that and if I want a keyboard, it's ready and waiting. It looks totally stock, even has the fake stitching.

I think to your point...it's about preference. If it meets your needs and expectations then it's all good. I've had both (returned the Zagg) and for my needs, the Logitech meets mine better. I use mine in a business environment and am often moving from meeting to meeting, so the ability to open the case in a mode that allows easy writing with the s-Pen or keyboard use is my personal expectation.

I'll give it to the Zagg on weight. Much lighter than the Logitech and generally...the keyboard was more than useable.

Enjoy...

that's exactly right. yes, it's a matter of preference. and of course your point is totally valid. My point was that the Zagg is not bad at all, infact it's good and IMO has no real flaws, it was just meant for a different application. It was meant not to add weight, nor thickness, give you a real keyboard and also act as a screen cover that looks OE (stock).

This is a business tablet no doubt. The other morning I was holding the tablet, just by itself, in bed, trying to work it and it's not easy. It's too large and heavy and a bit awkward and I am a guy, who is 5 10. This part is not very cool! but I knew what I was getting into, since the 10.1 is too small as a laptop replacement. Cheers,

I had the Zagg for an evening and it wasn't bad. the typing experience on the Logitech is a little better but I do miss the weight difference as the Zagg was slim and trim. The biggest problem that I had was that the edge of the tray that the tablet stood in while in stand mode was very sharp and after 1 evening of use it was literally peeling my Zagg Invisible Shield screen protector off of the tablet to the point that when I returned the Zagg keyboard to Best Buy the next day, the Best Buy guys went ahead and replaced the $38 screen protector.
