Galaxy Note Pro 12.2: Logitech Keyboard Case

How thick is the tablet plus the Logitech keyboard, vs the tablet plus the zagg keyboard?

Can't give you specific measurements...but there is a significant difference in thickness and weight. The Zagg is very lightweight material vs. the Logitech which is a mixture of materials and fairly heavy. The weight / craftmanship equates to a case that feels solid.

One thing I don't like about the Zagg is the ridge that the edge of the tablet sits in. It kept the tablet upright, but the slightest touch of the screen would cause the tablet to wobble to the point where it felt like it was going to fall backwards. I have too much invested in this tablet to risk that.

I don't agree with that statement, sounds like you are trying to bash the Zagg by exagerating some elements of it in favor of the Logitech. I touch the screen routinely while the tablet is on the Zagg and I don't feel if it's toppling over, it does wobble a little though. Considering how how light, thin and effective the Zagg is, I don't have any problems with stability.

Again, Zagg is a unique device and the Logitch is a folio with keyboard, they aren't the same thing and short of the keyboard they don't have much else in common. So, for the people who want to know more about these devices they should check out YouTube for reviews. We can also start a Zagg vs Logitch thread.

And please excuse my typos, I am typing this with the 12.2 and the Zagg on the Opera browser and without a spellchecker I am helpless. Speaking of the Opera, it's an excellent browser and the only one out of 4 that has a full time desktop setting and asks you if you are using a tablet or a phone. Excellent!!!

Nah...not bash, just my experience. It's a keyboard...I can only get so emotional about it. :-)

Got my logitech keyboard yesterday, today i'm noticing the edge of the plastic flaking :( Not looking good for long term confidence. Feels good... for now.

Have my Logitech keyboard cover about a week now. Out of the box it looks impressive. Packed well and you got an immediate sense this was going to be a good product. A week on of day to day practical use? I now have no real need for my desktop as the Note Pro and key board combination meets all my business needs. The combination is a little heavy but does give a sense of solidity. Remain pleased with my purchases.

Love the folio keyboard so far. My only complaint is with the shift-spacebar not putting a space in and then I dont realize it and keep typing. I will press the shift key for something and hit the spacebar before I have let off of the shift key. Normal keyboards just add the space anyway, but this logitech doesnt and instead does a popup that says "ENGLISH(US)".

I got mine yesterday. Haven't used it much but like it so far. My only complaint is when I try to tab to the next input field it actually tabs 4 or 5 spaces.

I've been using the logitech for about a week now. All of a sudden it has started not registering all of my keystrokes. I type at a good pace and it is not keeping up. Note sure it's a bad bluetooth radio or what, but I connected it to three other android devices with the same results. Not happy...thinking I'll be returning this and maybe going back to the zagg.

I contacted logitech about the shift space issue and received this response: Thank you for contacting Logitech Customer Care.

This is Jessie from The Logitech Customer Care Team and I am glad to assist you.
Chester, I?m sorry to hear that you are having problem using your Pro Keyboard Case. Let me help you with this.
Have you tried to perform the suggestions below? If not yet, please do so to help us isolate the issue.

1. Try changing your default keyboard to swype.

Please let us know if the same issue persists by replying to this email or updating your support ticket. Here?s your reference number 140320-001857. Just indicate or mention this number for quick and future reference for this particular case.

With our aim to improve and provide you with great products and customer service, a survey will be sent to you.

You will also be able to provide feedback directly concerning Logitech in the general comments section at the end of the survey. Any comments you would like to provide will be greatly appreciated.

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to visit our website at https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.logitech.com&token=-CNF7Yvj, or reply to this e-mail.

Now in order to make this happen, turn on the logitech keyboard then go to settings and then turn on the onscreen keyboard and then switch defaukt to swype and then turn off the on screen keyboard and now the shft space works as a space. This will make things better for me. Hoep it helps some of the rest of you with this issue as well.

Great info folks, I just ordered the 64gb note pro today and looking at cases now in advance. I just read reviews on Logitechs site that buyers have left and the very first one I read was that " the tablet can fall out of the case when changing positions"...anybody have the tablet pop out on them yet? The guy loves the case and keyboard and states he has had Zagg and others but that the design flaw in his mind is a major fail on Logitechs end and a deal breaker, I can understand that. I love Logitech stuff always have gone there first for peripherals. I'll wait until I hear from folks here about this issue if its in fact an issue or just a glitch, sadly.....
I got a bunch of tablets(Nexus 7.2, Tegra Note 7, Asus Memo Pad 10) and this will be my first Samsung...These are awesome aren't they??? I'm an older disabled guy and have a ball playing with these tablets....

Havn't had mine fall out. Not sure what the heck you'd have to be doing to get it to unintentionally fall out. Again mine is peeling and looking aged and weathered after two weeks. The plastic area surrounding the camera hole (grippy texture) is flaking off.

Mine has never had an issue in fact sometimes the little latches on the are hard to get to pop off when I would like to take my tablet out.

Thanks for clearing that up, the gentleman who posted about his falling out must be inserting it wrong. All the pics I saw of the item clearly show a very secure fitment so it seems odd to me how his falls out.

Logitech has it and I'm sure it will be all over soon. My note pro is due tomorrow so I picked up a folio type until I decide if I need the keyboard.... I'm like a kid at Christmas!

I haven't had it fall out, but I can guess what happened. Unlike some keyboard cases, the Logitech only holds the tablet in place on half of the device. If you try to fold the keyboard around to the back -- to briefly hold it like a tablet, for example -- it could conceivably fall out. I can't say as I know of a way to avoid that, though.

Apologies for the long post. I hope it is clarifying.

I'm the gentleman who wrote that early review of the Logitech keyboard case for the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 and spoke to the issue with the tablet falling out. The problem with the tablet dropping out was brought up to Samsung at CES in January. The folks at the show responded saying those were pre-production units and it was known but would be fixed in final production. My experience tells me it wasn't fixed enough. I even had the Best Buy techs put the tablet into the case to see if I was being dim, but a few hours later the same thing happened.

One of the things that is misleading about the photos is that it gives you the impression the lips on the plastic dogs, under which the tablet is held in place, have depth to them. Actually it is a very small indentation.

Think about the clasps that hold in it as covering about 2mm at the top (just the silver you see when the tablet is laying on its back -- I have the black unit). There is one at each corner and one in the middle. The two clasps on the side only cover about 1mm of the top of the tablet and appear to be designed to hold the unit in place through friction pressure on the side of the unit. So the ones on the top press the tablet down and the two on the side are there to keep it from slipping down.

I've seen one case that solved the problem and actually provided hold points for the top and the bottom by using a plastic frame that included clips on the bottom as well as the side and tops. The frame was then held to the rest of the case by the top half of the frame. IOW...the tablet was held tightly in a 360 degree frame at all corners, with the frame then attached at the top and half way down the sides. For this design, Logitech did the opposite. Their design attached the tablet at the top and half way down the sides and skipped the frame...probably saved Logitech about 2 cents of plastic and 3 cents of assembly costs.

If this had been a $50 case, I would have no problem with it. But when it is a $130 premium case for a premium tablet and marketed as such, I expect more of it and as a fan of Logitech, expect more of their designs, which are usually so good.

Understand that I love the keyboard, the Bluetooth implementation and the battery life on the case. I just don't like to have to keep catching the tablet to compensate for case design gaps. But, if the case works for you...enjoy.
