you can use this file to replace your stock android effect tick sound(its the audible sound when you touch your screen)all you need is adb or root explorer and replace the system file.copy the galaxy s effect_tick file to system/media/audio/ui/effect_tick and copy and paste the ogg file

I just did this and its still the same sound, even though if I click on the file in root explorer it plays the one I downloaded

weird...not really sure what the problem could be,are you positive that it replaced the effect_tick file

Yup I'm positive. When I copied the file over I clicked on it and it played the galaxy sound, but the keyboard still sounds the same

Yeah it doesn't work on keyboard that has its own sound file

I had done this on my hero but went back to stock, it just wasnt loud enough to hear on the hero. I applied it to my Optimus just now and it is audible Is there any way to make it a bit louder though? All my volumes are set to max...

After installed I went into root explorer and clicked the file. It beeped from the touch, but also beeped from being played. When played it was much louder, rom must have a setting somewhere, in build prop maybe?
