Actually no,
It seems that ROM did not match the boot loader, since they go by regions. And guess I needed some other ROM.
So now it's worse than before. Left it at a tech shop. Hopefully they can resolve the issue.
They told me they have to open the phone to try and undo it, causing a short or something. Will take more time.

SO is 4.4.2, un-rootted
KitKat was never released for the GT-i9300 - where did you get this ROM?
I do see that message, when pressing volume down + home + power.
Just to be clear, when you boot the phone normally it shows the static screen, but when you boot into Download mode everything looks ok?
But when I run the Odin.exe my pc blocks it
Sounds like you need to disable your Antivirus software temporarily.

Frankly I think someone loaded some bogus 4.4.2 firmware and that's why the normal boot screen was borked.

And I can't imagine why those guys need to open the phone - they shouldn't have to JTAG it if it's booting into Download mode properly.

Hi Gil! Were the tech guys able to fix your S3? Did they reformat your unit or change a hardware?

My S3 suddenly decided to stop working and just keeps showing me this wonderful screen of static.

Would love to hear how this ended. :)

Thanks!
