Galaxy S3 LTE

I Have the GS3 LTE edition with 2GB RAM and 1.5Ghz Quad-core S4 chipset. Is this outdated to the point of something newer? Or is this good still?

It's as good as your use dictates.
The Galaxy S6 is out so yours is over 3 years old and that is ancient for phones these days.
A newer device can be found either here on the Marketplace or Swappa, etc for a few dollars and it will be an upgrade to you.
As stated, you know you better than anyone so do what is best for yourself.

I might look into something a tad newer. I just don't know where to start with devices.

If you like the Galaxy line, stick with that.
You could easily find a used S4 or S5 that will fit the bill.
