Galaxy S3 rebooting by itself

Roby, you're going to have to provide a. Lot more info. What carrier / model is your phone. What procedure did you follow to root? (post a link). What did you download to your phone before it died? Without data, no one can do anything but guess.

Re: Galaxy S4 rebooting by itself

Please help me, the next day after I got the phone started restarting by itself, always freezing then restarting by itself, so I thought it might be the battery so I got a new one , but still happen so I send it to Samsung to repair it I got the phone back with a list saying repaired GH98-27479A assume case rear sgh-m919 and GH59-13109A Module Rev sensor + it led by quick
,I have no idea what this means any way got the phone back opened it just to be safe created a new Google accountdownloaded some apps, then it start restarting again, I've deleted everything out many times no help, so then I noticed there was an update the update was from t-mobile and took about 1 hour to do, no help I have a sd card in my phone, also I noticed the phone only restarts while on the Web or downloading or using apps like snapchat, never happen while playing a game. Any suggestions? I'm getting quiet frustrated

samsung is wasting of money to spend on samsung mobile...its a cheap mobile,,and cheap company..with politics...he is selling the mobiles and after a year .. mobile getting problem...and restart itself ...its a plan of samsung...and samsung making fool to innocent public..and the samsung..service center also not responding..they told me to throw the galaxy s3 and buy new one galaxy s4...so...all the picture is coming in front the people.. the samsung is playing game with the public... and run his own business.. !

I'm having the same problem. The phone just keeps rebooting. I had the android update but don't recall the version. I saw on youtube that some batterys need to have the terminals cleaned. I tried this and the phone booted right up. I'm going to sell the phone so I did a factory reset. Now the problem is back. I can't get it to boot in safe mode either. It's getting to the Galaxy 3 logo and then shuts off and starts over. If I let it just sit there for a while, sometimes it boots all the way, but it will not stay on long enough for me to do another update or delete any google crap. Sometimes it will boot and i can get around the phone, but by the time I get to connecting it to a wifi, it will shut down. this phone is driving me nuts. I don't see why everyones so in love with these. It seems that A LOT of people are having this problem, with the newer ones too. You'd think that Samsung would try to figure it out. I can tell you for sure that they lost this customer!!

I don't think that anyone knows what the hell is going on with these phones. One guy says clean the battery terminals, the next say's slam the power button, or spray it with cleaner, the next says replace the battery, the next says replace the power button (probably same guy that slammed it), now it's the Google crap or some other software problem or app, and everyone says that it solved the problem! WTF! Why doesn't the mfg figure it out????? This is absolutely ridiculous. These phones should all be recalled and fixed for free like a like a new car with bad gas leak on an exhaust manifold. JUNK!

Seems as though there are millions of S3 owners too who are pulling their hair out trying to figure out the reboot cycle to no avail. Maybe a bad chip in a run of them or something like this????????? APParently there is no common or guaranteed fix. SAMSUNG should replace any of them that have this issue.

Welcome to the forums!
SAMSUNG should replace any of them that have this issue.
You're right that there's no one solution - it all depends on the problem symptoms. And you'll note that none of us work for Samsung or the carriers, so we're doing the best we can to help people when we can't see the problem or experiment with solutions.

Feel free to contact Samsung directly and see if you can get any/better assistance; perhaps they'll give you an RMA to get it repaired.

In the short term here's a simple check - take the battery out for a couple of minutes and then reinsert it - if the phone immediately turns on by itself then you have a problem with the Power switch (the part on the mainboard) or Power button (the plastic piece that presses down on the switch).

This problem you are all taking about is a hardware problem. Has nothing to with software. Take out your battery. Get a pic like a dentist uses or anything with a similar metal point and scrape the "gold" contacts slightly. Any film or build up on the surfaces will cause resistance, thus dropping the necessary voltage need to keep the phone powered. IPhones do not have these problems because, unless you know what you are doing, they are sealed cavities that do not let air, dust and moisture in so easily.

I have a s3 mini and everytime I download something the phone freeze
For a second or two then restarts. Ive removed all my apps did a factory resetand updated formeware but still doong the same thing.

I just experienced this problem. I read through the posts in this forum, and found that disabling the cellular data and the wifi stopped the automatic reboots. That allowed me to list recently installed apps. After uninstalling a few apps without changing the situation, I uninstalled the latest version of Google Play Services. Then the rebooting stopped. I reinstalled the latest version of Google Play Services, and the rebooting started again. So it is definitely related to Google Play Services. This version of the app was installed a few days ago, but the phone only started rebooting yesterday.

For now, I have the stock version of Google Play Services. I'm hoping there will be an update soon so I can try on my Samsung Galaxy S3 again.
