Galaxy s3 screen display issue?

so I just turned my galaxy s3 on and the lockscreen was really small to where I could barely see it so I managed to put in my passcode hoping it was just the lockscreen but the whole phone is like it. it is almost like the whole bottom half of the screen display is not in use. please help.

Welcome to Android Central! Sounds like it might be a hardware problem. Try powering down completely, then power on again. Does it persist?
