Galaxy s3 update 4.1.2 issues u.s. Cellular carrier

After this latest update yesterday I cannot download anything from the Google Play Store, says there's an error..can't update or download any apps...Also, having an issue with the text message screens, going from one to another I've noticed a fade between both...has anyone else noticed this..I can see the background of the previous message going into the other one, very annoying. Any help would be great, I took battery out and nothing. Thanks in advance.

also been noticing my screen display becomes dim by itself, I dont have it on automatic brightness...and I dont have it on smart stay...damn this update lol

The screen is designed to dim shortly before it shuts off, as a warning it's about to turn off. That's normal. If you had it on smart stay, it won't do that when you're looking at it.

You should take it to the store because u dont wanna mess up your phone..
