Galaxy S3 won't charge / Connect to PC...thoughts?

Hey guys,

I have a Samsung galaxy S3 and it decided it didn't want to charge or connect to PC anymore. I plugged the Original Micro USB cable both into the PC USB port and AC charger, but the phone wont recognize it plugged in/charging.

I've tried another cable in another PC, and still nothing.

I went into Download mode (Hold down Vol Down + Home + Power) with the phone connected to PC, and it seemed to have detected the phone and installed the USB drivers (again), but after that, nothing.


I disassembled the phone and cleaned the USB port with toothbrush and IPA, as it did have some oxidation, but still nothing.. wont attempt to charge or detect in PC.

Right not its on 4% battery and I dont think Im going to be able to re-flash the ROM (in-case it was software).

Connecting to a wall charger doesn't seem to do anything either. I use to be able to connect to the charger (or pc usb port) and the phone would make that charging 'ding' sound and have the lightning charging battery icon. But nothing now...

Thoughts?

thanks Denis. I've ordered a new USB port online, hopefully that fixes it.
