I am unable to charge my galaxy s3...the charger port is shot...took it to a cell repair place and was told couldn't fix it...I've been seeing on the internet they do replace the charging ports...does anyone know if its fairly simple to replace..like you would simply plug and play type thing..or know where I could take it to fix it...I love the phone..hate to dump it
You might also consider wireless charging. Take a look at this thread to see how you might set up your S3 for Qi wireless induction charging. You can also go the Palm Touchstone route, which I have done by buying a special back with the Palm touchstone compatible coil...check out that option on this thread. The advantage of the Qi standard over the Palm Touchstone is that the Qi appears to have a more effective charging range...the distance between the two coils (the one in the back of the phone and the one in the charger unit) can be greater, up to 5mm while the Palm might only be 2 or 3mm...makes a difference if you are using a case.
