Galaxy S4: 4.3 Build MK2 root?

Re: Galaxy S4 4.3 Build MK2 root?

Thanks Sooooo much. My I337 has been sitting stuck rooted on MF3 4.2.2 forever and finally after going back for the THIRD time in over 3 months to Best Buys Samsung Experience I finally got a guy who knew what I needed done. I got my phone restored to stock and then freshly updated to MK2. So I am now up to current update and ROOTED again thanks to your nice exploit here for MK2. I also exchanged my Chromecast I got for Christmas for new one after finding out you need a brand new out-of-the-box non-updated Chromcast to root them aswell. So great techy day for me LOL. Seriously though, Thank you for all the time you guys put into you skills.

Re: Galaxy S4 4.3 Build MK2 root?

I have a Verizon gs4 mk2, 4.3. I could use some help. Here is what I want to do and I need to know if this will work.
Use Saferoot to get root access without tripping knox
Format SD card in fat32
Put the safestrap files on it and get safe strap installed
Use safestrap to flash cm11

The only part I don't think will work is using safestrap to flash cm11. Can you tell me if this is possible and if not then a work around? Thanks.

Back here again haha. Is there a NB1 root? I'm pretty sure there was an mk2 root by now hu. I didn't check and I just updated to 4.2.2

Re: Galaxy S4 4.3 Build MK2 root?

Hello. Previously, I wanted to root my device but the someone told me I was unable to because my Build ended with MF3. Now with the new update, my Build ends with MK2 instead. My question is am I now able to root my device? I don't know how to do any of this etc but I'm sure there's plenty of guides on how to root. Just want to know if rooting my device is possible now.
Thanks in advanced.

I don't know about you guys but I got the sprint variant of the s4 and personally I don't give a crap about tripping Knox or my Samsung warranty. Right now I'm on mk2 baseband with liquidsmooth 3.0 ROM on it and everything's working perfectly. I've even had cyanogen mod 11 on here and the Google play edition ROM on here and haven't had a single problem I just can't restore my stock mk2 backup on nandroid. I've got twrp installed. My method for doing all this is I used saferoot to root my phone and installed goomanager and installed twrp on there and just browse on the internet for ROMs for the sprint variant of the s4 and if it don't work or gets stuck in a bootloop I just restore my backup and try a different ROM.

Re: Galaxy S4 4.3 Build MK2 root?

Well, no need to root for me, I just got the update on my GS4 to Android KitKat 4.4.2.

Re: Galaxy S4 4.3 Build MK2 root?

I was going to root my Verizon S4, but now after reading all of this it would just be too much of a hassle and would not be worth it, especially since my build ends in MK2 anad there just aren't enough ROMs for my build right now. I'm just hoping that my phone will get kitkat soon. I read that the AT&T s4 got it last week.

Welcome to the forums. The
Sprint GS4s also got their update already. Unfortunately Verizon always stays behind. It feels like they hate updating!

But don't worry, you'll get it soon, have faith.

You don't want that update trust me go to the at&t section and look at all of the threads related to the kit kat updates and how screwed their phones are and also there's no root method for kit kat and furthermore the boot loader is locked your going to have to safe strap it here is the big issue with kit kat your sd card is basically useless no third party apps can write to it

must have unlocked boot loaders!!

Not all kitkat roms, and not all apps suffer this issue of being unable to write to sd card. Assuming phone has root.

Maybe samsung roms have that problem, but because its samsung.

Actually it's a Google thing in their attempts to wipe out the sd card as there is a huge issue with data being written to the SD card to be corrupted
