Go into settings and then WiFi. Please select your WiFi network and let me know what the speed is showing it is connected at.

My S4, the link speed is 433Mbps

S7:866 Mbps

the download speeds are still about 4 times on the S4.

Having the exact same problem. Also an AT&T S7 edge, my Wi-fi is far slower than it should be

HTC M8 on the right. Same 5Ghz Wi-fi network and everything. Yet if I connect it to my 5Ghz guest network, I get full speed

Not sure what's going on.

I set up guest access for 5ghz on the same router. Now I'm getting 90Mbps. The only thing that I can think of is my galaxy s7 is the only device on the guest network and is not shared with other devices on the others. Go figure!!!

Did you ever change the channel you regular network runs on. That could explain why the second SSID would work better.

What mode is the network running in. ie mixed, n only

What security setting are you using. WPA2 hopefully.

How long have you had the router.

My local internet plan is up to 100 down and 10 up
Both my AT&T S6 edge and new S7 edge are consistently getting the same 90 to 100mbps down and 15mbps up off of my 5ghz wireless router (DLink AC3200 Wi-Fi Router)

Router is a Linksys WRT1200AC

Network mode is mixed

WPA2 Personal

About 6-7 months

As it turns out, that's the problem. Just for the hell of it, I set security to None, and now I get full speed. Set security to WPA2/WPA Mixed Personal, and it gets full speed. WPA2 Personal is the only setting that throttles the connection. May or may not be a Linksys thing...

That is actually a bit opposite of what I expected. WPA2 should be the standard for use with N and AC networks. Have you tried restarting your router.

It's likely the encryption type being used.

Try switching to TKIP in your router settings. If you're already using TKIP, try AES.

Samsung phones always have this issue with some routers.

Your carrier deliberately slows down wifi to force you to use your data. Also GET RID OF YOUR COMCAST INTERNET. I HAVE COMCAST AS MY ISP, AND I PAY $600 PER MONTH FOR 0.0000000001 MBPS.

Same here, I turned off security and i get 90mbps on the S7 now. I was using WPA2 Personal..

I have a WRT 1900 ACS router that I bought about 2 weeks ago. Once again my S4 gets 90mbps with security on. My S7 gets 20Mbps with security on.
