Galaxy S4: How to turn off the warning not to listen to headphones at high volumes

Is anybody having trouble where for notifications the volume keeps resetting to max by itself? I'll go in and set everything to the lowest possible setting and it will stay that way for maybe 1 or 2 texts and then all of a sudden the next one will be max volume. So annoying.

Go to music.app settings
Check (select) Smart Volume

Worked for me, for other apps, too

Yup. It's really complicated: You have to hold the volume up button when you press OK to the warning : ) Presto! "

Actually it is. If you have phone in your pocket while mowing lawn, you try to turn up and you have to take it out to accept the on screen warning. Or More often I will use in car to listen to music. I turn the phone volume up so it plays at the same level as my regular radio. So you reach down with out looking to turn up volume and it wont turn up. Now you have to take your eyes off the road to accept the warning. Maybe instead of going deaf, some one will wreck their car and then sue for that. I mean this is America where nothing is our fault.

That being said. the Smart volume did not work for me either.

Mine usually only asks me once per boot time...meaning it will be fine till I have to do a battery pull or restart for some reason. It's Samsung covering their asses.

I think I've finally found an app to take care of this problem. It called AutomateIt Pro. There is a free version but you have to buy the Pro version for $3.99 for this to work. I'm running a non rooted S4 and it's working great. I listen to Pandora while riding my motorcycle so this has been real pain for me. The way I have mine setup is when I plug my headset in it keeps the volume all the way up and also launches Pandora. I use it for several other things like turning my sound off at night and back on in the morning & silencing my phone during meetings then turn the sound back on when the meeting is over. This has been a very useful app and well worth the $3.99 price. I hope this helps with this problem for others.

I didn't see if anyone else mentioned this, but it is not that it is complicated. It is because most of us have volume control on our Bluetooth or headphone device and don't need to touch the phone so it is a MAJOR nuisance. Not complicated, but also not a necessary feature either.

If you are using ear buds and get that warning you are probably listening to music too loud! Take it from someone that wears two hearing aids and still legally deaf! It is not hard to damage your ears beyond repair.

A real problem is the more hearing loss you have the louder you play the music the more damage you do! That warning is there for a reason!
