So my dad and I both have Samsung Galaxy S4s with US Cellular. They updated a few weeks ago, and now after the update, anytime me or him make a shortcut through a browser (i.e. making a shortcut to wikipedia.com through Chrome) it'll disappear from the home screen after about 15 mins to an hour. Any idea why this is or how to fix it? We updated our phones two weeks apart, but we each only had the problem after our phones updated. Thank you for the help

Nope. Also I've tried wiping the cache and clearing the data on the home screen too through the application manager. Still doesn't work
Any browser. It happens with Chrome and with the default browser the phone comes with. I downloaded an app calledFile Shortcut a while back where you cam make shortcuts to stuff saved on your phone. It gets rid of that stuff too

If you don't mind setting up your homescreens all over, try going to the App Manager, select TouchWiz Home (or whatever the Samsung launcher is called in the app list), and Clear Cache/Clear Data. Now set your homescreens up again, and see if your webpage shortcuts stick this time.
Another thing to try is an alternate launcher, like Nova (unless you really prefer sticking with TouchWiz).

I did wipe the cache and data already on TouchWiz and still the same problem. Well thanks for the help, I appreciate youe replies

Derp, I totally missed your previous mention of clearing the TouchWiz cache/data--sorry!
One other thing to try if you haven't already--see if it occurs in Safe Mode. If it never happens in Safe Mode, then something else you installed is probably interfering. The challenge is to figure out which app--you might have to uninstall apps one by one until it goes away.

This also started happening with my S4 after an update. What I found was that my contact shortcuts on my home screen or any side screens will disappear after between 1-8 hours. It doesn't matter if I create them with a widget or just using the contacts shortcut. I have had these shortcuts on here since I bought the phone and it just started happening in the the last 2-3 weeks right after an update
