Hi there,

I have just flashed Omega 24 for I9505 using Omega Pro files. everyting is perfect except Wifi doesnt work.
Now I want to flash the Modem using Odin yet when I downloaded the modem (I9505XXUFNB9_GSM_LTE_Modems.tar) Odin does not find the file.

No matter where I save it, uncheck the security box (in properties) or use any other Odin verion (used every possible version) the file does not show up.
My phone is recognized, yet under the buttons PDA or Phone or bootloader Odin doesnt See the tar or MD5 file.

HEEEEELP I even downloaded WinZ7 with no apperant result. I am sure there is a simple solution. please let me know.

Kinnd regards,

Seb

Welcome to the forums.
Try running Odin as Administrator, and setting the .tar file on your desktop. That might make thing a little easier.

Re: Odin does Not See .tar or MD5 Field

If your on 4.3 and up your boot loader is PERNAMENTALLY locked

must have unlocked boot loaders!!

Can you please post a screen shot? Odin already sees .tar files by default. Press the pda button and browse to the where the tar file is and select it.

He seems to be using an i9505, not the at&t version. Locked bootloaders only apply to at&t and verizon. Any other variant does not have a locked bootloader, only a knox counter, which only voids warranty and thats it.

Ahh didn't see that sorry seems what you need is to flash the kernel

must have unlocked boot loaders!!

guys is it safe to update my s4 i9505 to 4.4 manually via odin??? will it erase my whole data?? and how to do it via odin??? am new at this i previously used bbz10 so...plz help!

thanks...!

Usually odin is a complete update and yes you do usually loose everything as it rewrutes the nand flash memory but if you intend to use sd cards stay away from kit kat theres a lot of things the aosp build has that this official build doesnt

must have unlocked boot loaders!!

Hi I rooted my Verizon Samsung S4 using Safestrap and now my phone won't go back to the home screen at all. I can get it to Odin but from there I'm stuck as I want to unroot and get my phone back to normal. Can anyone help please.

OK you used safe strap?? Did you make a nan droid backup?

Just please walk me through to what you did if you were smart you would of made a nandroid backup and if you were trying to flash a rom you would only use a safe strap editions of the rom as the boot loader is locked and you cannot flash all custom roms as the boot loader will only accept the official mk2 kernel so if it's not a touch wiz based rom forget about it and you should of wiped everything accept the micro sd card then went to install in safe and dug through the sd card and flashed your new rom please just give me the link to your guide?

I just want to get my phone unrooted and forget about all these problems that run with rooting this type of phone. Can someone please guide me on what steps to follow from the Odin screen to get my phone back to normal. Thanks

Yet again I need to know what you did so it can be undone if I tell you the wrong thing and you brick it that's going to be your fault

Thanks for trying to help me.
I downloaded Safestrap from XDA then I was able to use TWRP but I was never able to leave that screen. I tried to download a ROM but it wasn't a match for the latest update from Verizon to my phone. It was 4.3. I don't know if I did a Nandroid backup since I got totally confused using TWRP. I can get my phone to the Odin screen but I can't seem to have the correct MD5 file to fix my phone. I'm at a loss. Thanks for your help if you can.
