Galaxy s4 Tablet has adware on it.

I can't stop ads from popping up on my Galaxy S4 tablet - they only appear maybe once a day out of nowhere and I close them and they reappear the next day. Help - I tried running AVG and it didn't remove them. What should I do?

Does it still happen in safe mode? Have you installed any new apps or updated any existing apps recently?

It's usually the result of a free app, I'd try running it in safe mode(disables anything that wasn't on the tablet stock) as already suggested.
