Galaxy S4 - Uninstalling widgets?

I've just spent some time successfully organizing my apps neatly into folders. I was looking into organizing widgets as well, but that doesn't seem to be an option. I do notice an option to uninstall widgets. I'm not talking about removing a widget from a home screen, but in the S4 app drawer, tapping Widgets, tapping Menu, and selecting Uninstall. So here's my question: I know that most widgets are connected to apps. Then does uninstalling the widget uninstall the app? Or just keep the app from showing its widget in the Widgets drawer? Or what?
