I see different editions are available. How do I know if it's the google edition or what? I got it from Verizon as a Certified Replacement. Its white and doesn't have any special markings on it.

Thank you .

Tony

The unit you've received is not a Good Edition or a Developer's Edition, likely. It is more likely than not Verizon's edition, you can find out the model number specifically by going to Settings-->More-->About Device.

It says SCH-I545. Is there a difference between that and the Google Edition?

Thank you !

Yes. The Google edition is only available from Google play off contract. Full price. And runs stock android with the window case feature ported into it.

And it doesn't work on Verizon, IIRC.

Yes, it's not available on Verizon. Instead, Verizon just announced the GPE Maxx and Moto X.

FYI: Verizon did not announce a GPE Maxx or GPE Moto X. They announced Developer Editions of them. Developer Editions are not the same as Google Play Editions. Google Play Edition phones are phones with "stock" android that receive updates in a timely manner (hopefully :)). They don't have carrier bloatware or manufacturer additives (i.e touchwiz, Sense, etc.). Developer Editions are phones with an unlockable bootloader that don't have carrier bloatware but still have manufacturer additives.

Cool! Congrats to Verizon customers.

Two great phones now being offered as GPE devices :). Now to get those prices down or at least offered as a contract phone with subsidy. ha ha.
