I have the same problem as the OP. I have a 2003 BMW 5-Series, and before Android 4.2, the Bluetooth worked perfectly. After 4.2- my phone pairs with the car, then disconnects and reconnects constantly until you just switch off bluetooth out of frustration. In my mind- the problem is definitely related to Bluetooth code used in the OS, as the problem appeared immediately after downloading the OS revision. No amount of unpairing / re-pairing, or phone resets have fixed the problem. I too am no longer even trying to fix the issue, as the BMW bluetooth adapter (called the "ULF") likely has to be upgraded (they cost $500, so that is out of the question) or the phone has to be rooted, and the OS has to run software that includes the previously-supplied bluetooth profiles. I do not know how to root, or how to install CM (and do not know if that would even address the problem). I really don't want to have to know all of that just to get handsfree bluetooth the work. Right now- I'm using speakerphone to make handsfree calls in the car (I'm a salesman in a large sales territory so this lack of functionality affects me a lot). It's extremely annoying. I realize that my car is 11 years old, but it still does not seem like it is too much to ask that Google address this issue.
