Galaxy S5: How's everyone's battery life so far?

How long have you guys had these? 2-3 days, if that? Let's hold off on the battery talk until next week. Let's also hold off on comparing the S4, updated several times already, with the S5. Not to mention some of you are going off of custom ROMS and kernels. I'd share my battery stats right now, but just like every phone before it, it'll break in around 5-6 days and get better.

I understand what you are trying to get at by waiting for battery life to improve but if you are getting 3 hours of screen on time now, you aren't going to magically get 7 hours once the battery settles in after a couple days. What im trying to say is, it still serves a purpose to post battery life screenshots from early on as we can extrapolate the improvement you might get later on.

But you're also premature if you're comparing devices with several charge cycles and updates to a brand new phone with maybe 1 or 2 days of use.

This isn't true, your phone doesn't break in like a car:) I just got almost 4.5 hours of screen time today on my first charge. That's 4.5 hours of screen time with 50% left:) s5 is awesome on battery.

I haven't had the S5 long enough to give a good estimation for battery life but today I have been pushing it and it is DESTROYING my old phone's ability (EVO 3D w/ newer bat.)!

Prob will have a better understanding after a week of usage but its going well so far :)

Actually, lithium ion batteries do. It's not a huge increase, but it definitely improves.

Don't blame you for not believing it. I was blown away myself. Going on 7 hours screen time right now with 21% left. Here is a link to the screen shots. http://forums.androidcentral.com/showthread.php?t=379705

Somehow you always get much better battery life than anyone else and every device. Not doubting you as you obviously have screen shots. Just wondering how you do it

Turns off everything and uses it as a paper weight at low screen brightness. :p

Lol jk

Here's some screen shots so far on my second full day. It's my day off so I've been home on WiFi basically all day just doing a little texting, flipboard, and facebook. Seems pretty good so far. I have WiFi, auto brightness, and high accuracy location on. Bluetooth off and apps like Gmail, snapchat, Facebook all auto sync if anyone is wondering.

I'm happy. Can't speak to actual statistics but I've been on the phone a lot today and after 12 hours or so I still have 60% battery.

My S3 wasn't making it through an entire day without a midday/early evening charge.

At the rate this S5 is going I might not even charge tonight to let it get a full discharge in...or is that not necessary?

Do u guys all use That battery monitor app? Since I downloaded it I've became obsess with looking at it
Nothing yet. I had it on the charger for about 2 hours at work earlier. I'm going to charge it tonight and then go all day tomorrow and see what it looks like.

For me android system is using up most the battery. Is this a wake lock ? Also what is a wake lock haha?

A wake lock is anything that prevents your phone from going into deep sleep.

Display should usually always be the greatest consumer of battery unless you dont turn on the screen and the phone sits idle. I suggest your restart your phone and see how your stats look tomorrow.
