Galaxy S5: Huge disappointment, Samsung TOTALLY dropped the ball!

The Nexus is the plan, after I see what HTC does, as I like some of the M8's features. I like Zoe's, and it seems easier to remove apps I don't want. I was really looking at the Moto X for the Moto Assist, but that was before the buyout. Also, on Sprint, and the N5 has Sprint Spark, and the Moto X doesn't.

Then I would definitely get the N5 if I were in your shoes! I truly hope this Sprint Spark improves my data experience. If it doesn't, Verizon will be getting my business.....unfortunately.

I don't like only having "disable" as an option though. I want to be able to remove apps entirely. As in I don't want TripAdvisor/FlipBoard or any of the other crap. Why can't I uninstall? Why did they have to pass a law to make Samsung allow me to remove it? I understand some of it is baked in to the ROM, but I get Titanium just to get all the Samsung garbage out. I mean, I even removed Touchwiz, as I hate it (and feel whoever said that water drop should be on for *every* press by default should be made to listen to Vogon poetry). The only things that I have on my "stock" rom that are from Samsung (apart from basic things like Browser/Settings/Messages/Phone) are Multi-Window, the notification bar (tweaked to show 8 icons because 4 is very useful...), and the PeelRemote app (Titaniumed to disable *everything* but the remote control features, don't have cable nor OTA, so I gutted 99% of it).

Just my setup, but I guess my point is I wouldn't go near a Galaxy device because I've had to do this much work just for Multi-Window and the Infra-Red Remote.

But the voganity of it is so beautiful

I don't like Verizon as their plans seem to (maybe not now) cost a lot more. Plus, I've been getting 14meg LTE from Sprint. I'd be fine though with a consistent 3 or 4 though, as I don't really do much on my phone that needs speed. Youtube and Netflix would work fine on 3 or 4. I like some of the HTC M8's leaked features though, so I'm waiting the 5 days.

Re: HUGE Disappointment -- Samsung TOTALLY Dropped The Ball

Maybe I am in the minority here but I've had my s5 for about 3 months and I couldn't be happier. I have had a number of high end smart phones over the years and the galaxy s5 is my favorite hands down. For the life of me I cannot understand the big deal over the plastic versus metal frame. It's a personal choice but the plastic back doesn't make the phone feel cheap. Only lighter than the heavier metal phones. And I love the dimpled back. It feels very sleek to me. As far as the performance goes I don't have a single complaint. It does everything I want it to do lightening quick. The screen is awesome, the camera incredible, and I love the fact the memory is expandable unlike a lot of those "metal" phones. I don't know why the s5 haters seem so passionate about letting everyone know why they feel the phone is horrible while the s5 lovers seem content to sit back and just let their phones be bad mouthed. As I said of all the phones I have owned the s5 is simply the best. I wouldn't trade it for a box of "metal" phones. So you s5 haters just keep hating. I will just continue loving my plastic, dimpled back amazing phone.

Great post and I totally agree. I don't get the metal brigade at all. Not only will the phone be a lot heavier if it were made of metal, it's most likely that it would have to lose the removable battery. Anyhow it doesn't matter because you can simply remove the back and put whatever back you want on there. If you must have metal that's not a problem as you can buy a metal back plate. If you don't like touchwiz you can put another launcher on. If you don't like the heart rate monitor, simple just don't use it!

I absolutely had no complaints whatsoever about my S5. Great screen, lightening fast, awesome camera, feature-rich, capable, water/dust-resistant with good battery life. Its a nice piece of kit.
