I got my S5 last August, it worked flawlessly until about November then it started the rebooting item all are talking about. Mine is T-Mobile. I am also seeing this issue with my home WiFi where it is continually dropping and reconnecting to it, this is new in addition to the rebooting issue (at least as far as I know). When it drops I look at the WiFi section on settings, says it is ready to connect when nework quality improves. This happens CONSTANTLY at this point, I am only connected to WiFi from home. There seems to be relationship between the rebooting problem and the wifi as the reboot also happens at work when I am not connected to wifi. I had a day or so stretch about a month back where it reset itself like 8 times over the period, frequency is not that great but multiple times per day. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5in tablet that I got in December, it is also running 4.4.2, am not seeing either issue with it. Both are build KOT49H but obviously one is for the tablet, the other the phone. The kernels were built within 6 days of each other.
I truly believe this is a Samsung issue, not T-Mobile. THe table has been great so far but the bloat ware on my phone is not something I like to see. Experience with my Samsung SMART TV tells me that Samsung does not do software well, their Smart HUB package was crap.
As far as the post about putting some cardboard in the back to keep the batter secure, sound good, someone even mentioned a faulty battery (I have several backup replacement brands) but my latest round of reboots has been happening with the stock Samsung battery and with the phone at rest, on a tabletop. No chance the battery "wiggled" loose (here in Michigan we don't get tremors lol).
I think Samsung has a sleeping giant of a recall on their hands and knows it, don't want to broadcast it out there. In the meantime everyone is looking to deflect the blame.
I forgot to mention battery life. I have gotten, during light use admittably, 68 hours on a charge. A few times the phone went into this mode of sucking the battery dry in less than a day with light use. This is going on at this time. Not even 24 hours on a charge with me hardly using the phone. Not sure how all this is related but wanted to throw that out there.
