Re: S5 metal version coming in may?

Doubt it. If they did, however, I'd get it!

Re: S5 metal version coming in may?

I just read this and was going to start a thread.
I'm kind of wanting to hold off now on getting the S5 just incase this is true. I'm sure if it comes out in May we'd know by April 11th when the S5 is released. But i'd be pissed if i pre-ordered the S5 then they release a Metal higher end version.

I'm waiting it out, whats one month if it means a possibly superior phone being released? There's also sure to be more rumors about a metal model around April if one is actually being released.

Re: S5 metal version coming in may?

I'm more interested in T-Mobile getting a 32GB version, than what it's made of! I would get a case anyway, but Samsung's touchwiz takes up way, way too much memory to for a 16GB version.

Memory is far, far more important, than some superficial issue as what it's made of.

I don't use, or acknowledge the word ""troll"".

Re: S5 metal version coming in may?

Would a metal version be no longer waterproof? Would a qHD version drain the battery more? Would a better processor be available for Western markets by May? An upgraded processor with more RAM, and a superior camera with OIS would all be reasons to wait but the others seem to present compromises that may or may not be worth it.

Re: S5 metal version coming in may?

I doubt this is true. Why would they kill the launch of the S5 by releasing a premium version weeks later? Makes no sense from a marketing standpoint.

Yup! I agree! Why would they sabotage their own product?! Makes absolutely no sense.

How would it be sabotage if every can't afford it? The device probably would be $800 off contract and $300 with upgrade trust me ppl will get cheaper version

Aaaaaah, so maybe the current S5 is similar from a marketing standpoint as the iPhone 5c? Interesting if true.

Att already carries a plethora of 'Galaxy' models. What's one more? :D
Something tells me it could just be an international release only though, hopefully not!

I wouldn't mind it, but it isn't going to stop me from getting the GS5 as it is today.

For all of us that aren't into the "Band-Aid brand" texture I'm quite certain there will be a plethora of economical alternatives offered via Amazon, et al. Samsung Mobile certainly knows this as well so I'm curious as to what else a "premium" S5 would offer to open purses and loosen wallets.

I wouldn't think we would see much of a processor improvement by May. I'm more in line to think that, if they actually did something like this, we would be more likely to see it later in the year, to coincide with the iPhone 6 launch.

Also, I know I'm turning into a broken record, but there's really *no* reason to up the screen resolution beyond 1920x1080 on a 5" screen. At 430 ppi, it's already a higher resolution than you can see with the naked eye at 10". More pixels would just mean faster battery drain, more heat, and more processor cycles wasted processing all those extra pixels.
