Hi, my Galaxy S5 wouldn't charge yesterday through the charger. I left it charging over night via the USB port on PC and it charged. I've proved the charger and lead are working on other devices.

Phone is about 13/14 months old.

Anybody come across similar problems.

Simple question - have you rebooted your phone? I had this same issue about a year ago and even went so far as to email Samsung. Their first resolution was to reboot the phone. That's the first thing I tell everyone for everything else, but didn't think to do so this time. I rebooted, and my phone took right off charging at full speed and power.

Are you meaning restart or factory reset. I have restarted the phone a few times since noticing this yesterday.

Nope... simple power down and restart. Do you have another charger that you can try? You said the charger works on other devices, but not your S5. Try another charger if you can and see if that helps. Could be that your charger is bad and just not enough to charge the S5?

Nope, tried all the obvious fixes, reboot, different charger, different lead. There are no new apps downloaded recently.

I've asked the question on a couple of forums to see if there are any fixes. It could be a factory reset if all else fails.

As i said, it's still charging though the USB port of the PC.

Mine started doing the same thing yesterday (2/20/16). I could not understand the battery drain.

I plugged my phone in before bed (as I always do), and it was at ~15% charge. Seven hours later, it wasn't even at 80% - on the same cord/outlet/etc. that I have used for months.

I purchased a new battery today, and it does not seem to be helping so far. Very slow to accept the charge there as well.

Was there an update gone bad?
