You cannot downgrade if you are on Android 5.0 Verizon build after June 2015. See, [UPDATE:] Verizon's new OE1/OG5/OK3 updates prevent downgrading or rooting

I've also tried the options at Working Root Method For 5.0 Lollipop Roms [O… | Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 5 and it failed to root as well.
Is it possible?

Working Root Method For 5.0 Lollipop Roms [OE1] [OG5] [OK3] [PB1] [3-3-16] is the new root method for those firmwares mentioned above. It is the only known root method for the G900V model, now. At 182 pages and some 2,769 posts, it does require some reading and research but it most certainly works. If you have a specific problem, you could post on there as I do not own the Verizon model.

Btw, I am very new to this rooting thing, and all I want is to be able to install cyanogenmod. My s5 is running stock 5.0.2. Is it the same what version of Odin I am using? I have my phone in usb debugg mode and booting it in download mode. Anything else?

Hello,
I tried to root my Galaxy J3 SM320F. But I got the same like above.
<ID:0/005> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
But now, I can't start my phone. It says:
"Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."
But Kies doesn't connect to my phone.
Who can help me?
best regards Christoph

Hello and welcome to Android Central Toeffa

Each model of phone has different rooting methods and idiosyncrasies and what is true for the Galaxy S5 models will not be so for the various J3 models. You would probably do better posting, here.
