Galaxy S5 texts on the Moto 360

I am using a gs3 on verizon and neither stock SMS or Google hangout lets me reply to text msg. I can reply to emails though

Update: checking the option to preview the message in the status bar seems to fix it. I now have options to reply, call etc.

Thanks for sharing this setting. That has solved the reading issue on my moto360, but still doesn't allow me to reply ...

I'm on Verizon with a S4 and trying to get my moto360 to work with it for txt and mail ... not happy so far!

just spent 30 mins with google support - they were no real help and had no idea what was going on. Will report back here if I know more since this seems to be one of the few posts addressing this. If anyone on here has more info please share.

Most stock SMS apps will not work with Android Wear. There are plenty of SMS alternatives apps in the Play Store that do allow it. I'm currently using Chomp SMS that does provide Android Wear compatibility.

I've got the same problem with my S4mini, everything seems to work fine but i don't have the option to reply to text messages. I can only see them, and open it on my phone or block the app.
And even when I try to send a message from my moto360 it understands what i say but it isn't able to reach the contact on my phone. I've tried to transfer my contacts from the phone memory to the google account but it still don't work. CAn you help me?

Mine says I have to turn on Contact recognition when I attempt to text. I can't find that option on my S5?

Mine will not give me the option to reply either. Moto 360 + Moto X (2013) on Verizon. I do NOT want to use Hangouts for SMS. I already use Hangouts a ton for other things and I want the two segregated. How the hell does Android's stock SMS app NOT work with Android Wear and what would Verizon have to do with it?

Thank you...although your situation was with an S5 what you found out on the settings helped me with my LG/moto360!
