Galaxy S5 vs. HTC One (M8)

Re: Now that the HTC was announced, Galaxy S5 or HTC One (M8)?

Does anyone have concerns that the first batch of S5's only have 16GB of storage (half of which is taken up by the OS/TouchWiz)? I know it has an SD slot but with the KitKat/SD card challenges, is 16GB enough?

I would not touch an S5 with 16GB on board. I had the 32GB S4 and was glad it waited on it. I have moved away from SD cards because I just am not sure they will always be supported with android. And the Galaxies have too much bloat. I am more and more a stock or close to stock fan.

I was thinking the same as you before but after playing with the GS5 at my local AT&T store I just don't think I can wait, the phone is amazing!!! It's fast as lightning! Camera is superb, TouchWiz has cleaned up immensely. ugh....

I'm in the same boat as you except I haven't even seen the phone yet! My 16GB GS3 is running low on space and I hope at&t announces a 32GB model. I had an online chat with a rep on the at&t website but of course they were vague and said 16GB is the only model sold at this time.

I know it is hard to resist but unless your phone is broken, you can way a few weeks! Just think about how bad *** your S5 will be with 32GB of internal storage AND a Micro SD! You do not want to get the 16GB and then complain about storage unless a 16GB phone would be fine for you.

I cannot remember exactly but I think the 32GB S4 came two to three weeks after the 16GB or day 15 of the 14 day buyers remorse period!

Lol that doesn't surprise me. I really should hold out until my upgrade in July. I'm tempted to get on ATT Next because I switched over my family's account over to that 10GB mobileshare plan reducing our monthly bill so this is agony but like you said, holding out is best and I'm sure they'll announce other colors.

Was looking forward to the 8 but the camera is a deal breaker for me. Will check out the 5 but may Waite and see what comes out next. I may be in the minority but I'm still happy enough with my DNA that I'm in no hurry to burn my upgrade.

I don't care what kind of phone you have, that's not how I judge someone's worth or intelligence.

I'm still debating which phone I want, if any. The love the design of the HTC M8, but the size concerns me. Where with the GS5, looks and feels pretty good in person, seems a little cheap in comparison. The software on the GS5 bothers me as well. I like the new Touchwiz, but it seems a little too childish in comparison to Sense UI which appears to be designed for sophisticated. And then of course I do like the idea of software keys.

Ah. Having put them side by side, it's still tough to say which is I prefer. I'm just going to keep playing with them till I finally feel I can make the right choice.
