Hey guys I will keep this short and sweet. Im not some website or some crazy tech geek just someone who loves phones. Ive had the iPhone 5 since launch and it was giving me some issues so I decided to try the s5 out.
Overall the s5 is great. The speed of the phone is great no lag no issues there. The software is ez to use, the apps that I use are available with android so no loss there. The camera is different. When I want to take a pic in a text message it takes a while to load then shoot. SO the iphone wins there.
The overall feel of the phone is great. Its bigger so it is def taking some getting used to but I don't mind the size at all.
The screen def is a major plus on the s5. Its awesome and I cant understand how Apple is this far behind with their screens.
The swipe to unlock on the S5 is somewhat slower than the iphone but not a major issue.
The one major issue Im having is plugging the charger into the s5. IT PLAIN OUT SUCKS. If someone tells u differently they are lying. You have to have it just right to get the plug in. The iphone is way way easier. When its dark it takes a while to get the plug into the charging port.

If you guys have questions or are thinking about switching from iphone I would say go for it.

Thanks for the input.
I agree on the charger. I heard that the USB standard is going to change. Something similar to Lightning, but the small side would be on both ends, making it so there is no right side up for the PC end too (I hate that end of the cord too)

If you want to see a different breed of customization for your S5, take a look at different launchers like Nova.
Here is some more info on it: http://forums.androidcentral.com/ambassador-guides-tips-how-tos/299378-guide-nova-launcher.html

I also dislike the charging cord connection, although I guess it is a little more stable than the typical micro usb.

What also sucks is that not too long ago I bought several extra micro usb cords to have around the house for charging phones and such, and now those are useless with my brand new S5.

I've got to figure out if Monoprice makes/sells these S5 cords...

I absolutely agree about USB3.0 connector being difficult to plug into charger. Specially in the low light. Its almost impossible. You have to look at it from the bottom, and aim with all your senses in order to get it on the first try.

otherwise, phone rules! Battery is ridiculously good even with all the extra apps (bloatware)

They are not useless. You can use them with USB3.0 ports. Just aim at that half which looks like USB2.0 micro. Its backwards compatible!

I will say the biggest thing I miss from my iPhone 5s is the lightning connector. It was nice that no matter which way you plugged it in it would fit. It wasn't nice having to buy multiple cables at $19 a piece though. ;)

I looked at my switch to Android device as an excuse to do a little shopping :). Going to go wireless too once I see some reviews. With you there on the lightning cables though, more underrated than I thought and makes me glad that I got my mom and her tired eyes the iphone.

I actually stick a 3d sticker on the "up" side of my charger so in the dark I know how it goes in right away. with that, I had no trouble getting it plugged in last night.

Re: s5 vs iPhone 5 from my POV

I don't know. I certainly am enjoying my S5 from the iPhone 5, but I thought the screen was great and felt incredibly sturdy in my hand (iPhone). The Lightning cable was fantastic in exception of how long it took to charge the phone. My main complaint about the Galaxy S5 is that the Android OS is not nearly as clean, the BloatWare was annoying and some of the apps just aren't as good on the Android platform as they were on iOS.

With that said, I am not missing my iPhone 5 at all and am really enjoying a lot of the features on the S5 that I would never be able to enjoy on my iPhone. The Samsung's size is something to get used too, but I really like it a lot and feel that I made a really good decision! The battery life is astonishing as well!

Re: s5 vs iPhone 5 from my POV

My understanding is that USB 3.0 charging adapter like the one with the s5 will pretty much become standard and take over mini usb?

This is just what I have heard? So take it with a grain of salt.

Re: s5 vs iPhone 5 from my POV

One thing I forgot to mention was how the phone feels slippery without a case. Im afraid to drop it. Coming from the iphone5 though its not as bad because that phone was as slippery as any phone could be.
