Galaxy S5 will still sell like gangbusters

Considering how quick the lifecycles of devices are these days, and the fact that manufacturers are churning out new devices all throughout the year, it's hard to say that one phone is clearly the best in a given year, because 6 months later, it will start to become old news. And besides that, the Android community is so varied in its preferences for devices that what's good for the goose is not necessarily good for the gander. Lots of people love Samsung because of TouchWiz and all of the added features, but others dislike it for the exact same reasons. (Personally, I have little use for them, and don't like how they take up 8 GB of internal storage.)

..

And I will repeat my earlier statement. At some point, better no longer becomes subjective. ..
:D

Repeating a falsehood doesn't make it suddenly true. "Better" is a subjective term. What you think is "better" may not be what I think is better or what may be better for me. Holy ...

And likewise, disagreeing with something doesn't make it an untruth.

So according to you a grainy photo is better than a clear one as long as one prefers grainy photos, all other things being equal?

If there is not at least one better phone from a competitor, then by default that means the Galaxy is the best phone. How can you acknowledge that it's not the best every year and then proceed to contradict that in the very next sentence?

And I will repeat my earlier statement. At some point, better no longer becomes subjective. Otherwise every product would always be equal, and not all products are, user preference notwithstanding.

Which phone is the nicest?

HTC One
Samsung Galaxy S4
Motorola Moto X
Sony Xperia Z1
LG G2
Google Nexus 5

Comparing these phones will always be subjective.

The HTC One is "nicer" than the Galaxy S4 because of the materials.
The Galaxy S4 is "nicer" than the HTC One because of the removable battery.
The Galaxy S4 is "nicer" than the Motorola Moto X because of the expandable memory.
The Google Nexus 5 is "nicer" than the Samsung Galaxy S4 because of the "pure Google" experience.

All of these phones are "nicer" than the Moto X because specs.

But the collective opinion of the Android Central writers say that the best Android phone to buy right now is the Moto X.

At no point does it stop being subjective.

//mic drop.

I'm not going to start a brand specific phone war by directly answering that but 2 definitely on that list are better than the S4 in the majority of smartphone categories. Ie. Specs, software, performance, camera, display, design and others.

If a smartphone outperforms another in a significant number of categories, there's nothing subjective about it.

Which brings me back to my initial point. Samsung does not make the best phone every year, personal preference notwithstanding.

Don't forget your mic.

Why do people always boast about new phones of different manufacturers that come out almost a year after the competition (s4 vs g2) of course you would expect the newest one to be better than the other. Also, didn't the g2 Just come out, and now LG is getting ready to release a g3? Also the Sony z2 isn't even out and I hear they are releasing a z3 by August? Are we really to the point of buying a new phone every six months? And people have the audacity to call others sheep? We're all sheep. No one NEEDS a smart phone.

On screen buttons, metal design, 3GB of RAM, OIS, a 3500 mah battery, 32GB of storage, and vanilla Android. If I released a phone like that, without people even looking at it, the tech world would be all ears. Except phones like that don't sell even close to as well as what Samsung has been doing. So they refined a lot of their strengths, eliminated most of their weaknesses, and added some useful features. They'll sell a ton regardless of whether people here want one or not.

Sorry but on-screen buttons are stupid.

The average consumer probably could care less about onscreen buttons or not. That's who manufacturers target and sell a boatload of devices to.

I have my Note 2 for almost 11/2 years and have no reason to replace it. Did not like the plastic back, so I replaced it with a carbon fiber back.. Not crazy about TouchWiz, sense or stock android, so I run Apex. Still love the S Pen, my 64g SD card... That has never crashed, my removable battery... That I never had to remove and everything else that just works all the time. When my 2 years are up, I will probably keep my very satisfying Note 2.

Right now , I use GS4 , My parents use GS2 and GN2 and also many family members too.

Why do we all buy Galaxy phones ? because they never gave us bad experience.

As long as that happens , we continue to do the same.I used to be a big fan of iOS back in 2010 , I had iPod Touch but Galaxy S2 totally changed the way I look at Android. When I look at offerings of Sony , HTC etc. they are also nice but what they lack is the sense of "security".

Best way I could describe what i feel about galaxy devices is "Safe" , I just feel confident and safe when using the device , I don't get the same feeling with any other product (except Apple)

That's an interesting concept, this idea of "safe". "Safe" from what?
