My galaxy s5 heartrate sensor glass or plastic whatever it is has a scratch does it affect the performance of the sensor?

Take your pulse the old fashion way, finger on pulse and watch with a second hand or second counter and compare readings to your s5. Obviously you want your pulse to be stable not coming down from exercise. I just tried comparing the watch method to my s5 sensor and they were the same.
