Galaxy S6 Active

As much as I like the GS6 (normal version) ... with it's sleekness and beauty ... I'd love to see a hybrid between the GS6 and the Active ... basically an Active but with the fingerprint scanning home button, and capacitive buttons. Of course, I'd want the camera to be the same as in the GS6 too ...

I love the idea of having a super-slim case built into the phone ... but I also hate the physical buttons on the Active. This would also give the GS6-Hybrid the 3,500mAh battery, which would be AWESOME.

Too bad unicorns do not exist ... (grin)

Camera is the same on the active as the s6. You lose the scanner. But should gain a couple of hours of screen on time! I'm testing now

I'll be looking forward to people's reviews. Thinking of getting one of these towards the end of the summer.

Will this device be compatible with Samsung Pay since it doesn't have a fingerprint scanner?

it's really strange to me that if they are only offering ONE storage option/capacity, that it would be the 32gb option vs. a 64gb option ... Even with cloud storage, 32gb really is NOT very much, especially when the OS takes up over 9 gigs to start off...

Charger port and headphone is wide open. Sim card is sealed. No other ports. I'd do pictures but I don't have another camera with me.

Got all the apps I use in here and 21gb left. Won't be a problem for me personally.

Yep no covers for the ports (Headphone jack, charging port)

So ... That begs the question ... Is the new Active model just more "shock proof" and more "rugged" than the GS6/Edge? Does it have increased water resistance vs. the GS6/Edge models? Or is it actually "waterproof capable" (like the S4/S5 Active models) pending installation of some aftermarket port covers?

I'm totally ok with it just being more water resistant than the GS6/Edge, as well as it being more rugged ... but If that's all it is ... it makes me wonder why the physical buttons vs. capacitive and fingerprint scanner ...

again (beating a dead horse) ... a more "rugged" GS6 as an option would have been cool ... basically just make the GS6 in a version that has a "built in" super slim case and flushed out backside (aka: flat w/ the camera bezel) ... THAT would super-dooper-freaking-awesome if they did that.

On a comedic note, the at&t lady (not the one I have a crush on from the commercials) who sold me the phone randomly asked me if I had ever tried the Amazon Fire Phone. I literally laughed out loud, and asked her if she meant the one at&t had sold 2 of.

It's now IP-68 which can be submerged under a meter of water for 30 minutes, also up to 4 hours in freezing rain, Dust resistance is better than on the S4Active, S5Active, etc.

Agreed.
