Galaxy S6 audio playback issues

Hi guys! I have a problem with my Galaxy S6. Sometimes, when music is playing, or when watching a video, the sound gets "choppy". That's the only way I can describe it. It's really annoying and there only way I can temporally fix it is with a reboot. What is happening here and is there a permanent solution?

Nope, still happening from time to time. Good to see someone else has the same problem, at least I'm not in this alone

I'm willing to bet a factory reset would fix this, but I have a lot of data so I'm trying to find a workaround...

Hey, just wanted to let you know, a factory reset won't fix the issue, just did that and it's still happening. It looks like it's a kernel issue, which should be fixed through software updates, but I hope we find a workaround

Does this happen on both wi-fi and mobile data? Also, if you have Bluetooth on, try turning it off during playback.

Hey, just wanted to let you know, a factory reset won't fix the issue, just did that and it's still happening. It looks like it's a kernel issue, which should be fixed through software updates, but I hope we find a workaround

aha, thanks for this information. I did not tested the factory reset, and i will not do that.

No, I usually turn Bluetooth off when I'm not using it. It happens on Wifi and on mobile data, and happens even when Bluetooth is off.

Happened once or twice in the stock music app (local file music), but it mostly happens when playing YouTube videos or when streaming music on Spotify. And yes, the stuttering happens even when in safe mode.

Should I install it as a system update or should I wipe the entire OS first?

I don't have direct experience with it, so I can't be sure. From what I've seen on the forums, though, you can just do the reinstall, and it will overwrite the existing firmware.

Just reinstalled the firmware and the issue is still happening.

I wonder if it's a bug in the official firmware itself. Is the phone still under warranty?
