In Do Not Disturb (Blocking) Mode, I have it set to only allow messages/call from my favorites and yet in the middle of the night I got a message notification from Twitter - definitely not on my favorites list and not set to be a priority app. Do Not Disturb was working otherwise...

I am having this same problem when Notification Reminders are on, even when the phone is set to silent. Just now when I went to reply I had to register, Google's 2-factor authentication sent me a text that vibrated every 15 seconds to remind me. I'm only here because Facebook woke me at 3:30 to tell me about a comment 5 hours ago.

BTW I had to enable led reminders again once notification reminders was turned off.

I'll post results at a later time.

I like to have notification reminders for text messaging, but the Do Not Disturb mode doesn't silence them. Not only that, but I get constant notification reminders for apps that usually don't generate notifications in the first place (because I've turned them off.) There is a serious flaw with the notification reminders feature, and I wish that you could set notification reminders for SMS from the Messaging app like you could with past versions of Android OS. Hopefully they'll change this back in the future.

I have the opposite problem; in do not disturb mode showing alarms the clock timer just will not work, even with the clock added as a priority interruption. The alarm is fine, the timer just won't make a sound whilst do not disturb is on, whatever I do.

I have the same problem (GS5) with my clock timer not making a sound, even though the clock alarms DO sound as they're supposed to. Did you find a solution to yours?

It seems to be a bug in the feature. I find that many of the stock Samsung apps and their build of Android in general are filled with bugs and quirks.

I am having the same issue, are there no moderators on these forums? I have Do Not Disturb on with the only exception to be Alarms, however my text messages always go off, even though messages are not included in my exceptions. Anyone have a resolution?

Did anyone resolve this issue? Just got the S7 and I'm getting texts on do not disturb. Also with messages, but saw that has been an ongoing issue, so just go in and turn that off in the app everything. I have friends all over the US, who text at all times forgetting when it's early or late my time. Being away from family, I don't want to set phone on silent or vibrate because I want their calls to come though, so that's not a solution for me. Thanks!

Nevermind, I figured it out! Under settings, notifications, advanced, then under message+, it's set as a priority, which means it overrides do not disturb. Switched that baby off and now it's fixed.

You just saved my ability to sleep. THANK YOU!

Had trouble with S Voice speaking out in a business meeting..Talk about embarrassing!! Oh and that was with do not disturb, silent mode, and volume down all at the same time. Going to enable the app again, play with the settings. May have to turn off both priority & allowed.
Thanks
J

The Galaxy S6 Quick settings panel contains a "Do not disturb" icon to toggle DnD (related to Interruptions) on and off.
This is also in Android Settings > Sound and notifications > Do not disturb

How can an Android application:
1) Detect the current device DnD state, such as invoking a Java method.
2) Receive an indication when device DnD state is changed, such as receiving a BroadcastIntent or callback method.

Is there a standard Android API or a Samsung SDK API available?

Sample device information:
Galaxy S6 on Verizon Wireless
Model number SM-G920V
Android version 5.0.2
Build number LRX22G.G920VVRU1AOC3
