As of about a week or two ago my Galaxy S6 Edge's screen stopped rotating. Restarted the phone, updated, made sure the rotation was enabled, everything but still nothing gives.

I've read a lot online about the problem, and it seems that the gyroscope sensor might be what's causing the problem. So far the only solution that I've come across was a hard factory reset, but even then I'm not even too sure if it will fix the problem.

Was wondering if you guys had run into any similar trouble and were able to get around it. I'd like to try everything before having to go through a whole factory reset.

Appreciate any and all sorts of input!

If the gyroscope is dead a hard reset won't achieve anything. I have read fast charging can fry them. Do you use the fast charger?

Yup, I still use the one that it originally came with. Any way of figuring out whether it is actually dead or not? Is it fixable or am I screwed..?

You can try a self-test You can do this by pressing the code “*#0*#” (without the quotation marks) on the Galaxy S6 dial pad. Once you are in the service mode screen, tap on “sensors” and do a self test.

looks like the test result said my gyro fail. samsung s6. any warranty for it?

Fast charging fry it. OMg.
