Not at all. You can use all of the edge functions just fine.

Is that clock/weather widget part of the Nova Launcher? I like all the info displayed like that.

Its Kairo XP Widgets which is an expansion pack for HD Widgets. There are many choices once you get in there. This one is called: Header w/ Indicators. You can choose which indicators that you want. I changed my wallpaper to black so I could see the side bars better and made the Widget background to have no background color. I think it looks cleaner.

After using them for years, I've observed live wallpapers to typically consume 1% or less of battery power. The one I'm currently using has never even showed up on my battery usage stats. I wouldn't worry about it.

I love the clean look of just a simple Black background. Should help with battery drain too!

I am using the Heeda theme with different wallpaper. The wallpaper that comes with the Heeda theme is very light and does not provide adequate contrast for text and widgets.

Love this phone!!! The Samsung keyboard is great now I never used it before. I'm even still using the touchwiz launcher.
