I really hope Samsung is doing their best to fix this mess. Lollipop and Marshmallow were great. I never had any problems. Never.

Now, I'm seriously considering a different phone. I'm having all the issues everyone else has already mentioned. Most frustrating, is probably when I get locked out of my phone and it won't let me use my fingerprint or password to get back in.....for hours.

I restart the phone once a day. Sometimes it restarts itself. Is that Samsung attempting to fix things?

Welcome to Android Central! Sorry you're having issues. The restarts are likely due to some sort of system instability, not Samsung trying to fix things. It could be due to something else you installed, firmware corruption, or inherent bugs in the official firmware. The latter is less likely, since that would mean every single S6 on Nougat would have the same problems. You can check if it's due to something else you installed by booting into Safe Mode and seeing if the problems go away: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-29226

If the problems don't go away in Safe Mode, then the next thing to try is to reinstall the firmware using Smart Switch, in case the current copy became corrupt: http://www.sammobile.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29914

Thanks B.Diddy. My apps are all the same since before the update. I haven't changed or added any new apps since the update.

Before the update, my phone was 100% trouble free with Marshmallow and Lollipop.

Thanks again and I'll look into what you suggested.

Today I went to my local US Cellular store and told them about the issues I've been having.

Before taking any serious actions, we decided to try some simple things first. They showed me how to do a 'battery reset' by powering down the phone and then powering it back up by pressing basically all four external buttons at the same time until the phone turned back on with the Samsung logo on the screen.

So far, so good. Phone is operating faster and it's been a few hours with no hiccups.

What made me seek help at the US Cellular store was because my phone was really acting up today. In four hours it shut down 3 times.....wouldn't let me sign back in.....couldn't use my phone. Finally got back in and then went to get help.

Fingers crossed this battery reset will hold things over until Samsung fixes this whole nougat mess. Hopefully soon.

Me either......but it's been a little over a day and my phone has been working normal again. (For the most part)

She said it was the equivalent to taking the battery out and then putting it back in.

I just tried the "battery reset" procedure. I am willing to try anything new since I have done everything else except revert to MM (which requires unsupported root access).

I did the clear cache partition doing recovery mode.

Galaxy S6 Recovery Mode

Power Down the Galaxy S6
Press and Hold the Power Button, Volume Up Button and the Home Buttons at the Same Time
Continue Holding These Buttons Until You See Some Blue Text at the Top
When You See the ‘Recovery Booting….” Text, Then Let Go of These Buttons
Wait Until the Galaxy S6 Fully Boots into the Recovery Mode

Thanks, JR M. It's been a week now since I did the battery reset. I'm glad to say that my S6 has been working great. All the issues I had have subsided except for the battery life isn't what it used to be. I'm just glad the phone is now working as it should.
