Galaxy S7 battery life

I must say somewhat contrary to some reviews out there, galaxy s7 has MUCH improved battery life over the s6/s6 edge. I never got 16 hours overall and 6 hours SoT. In fact, my s6 3dfe would usually be in the red after about 6 hours overall and 2 hrs 15 min screen on. The key I think is how much better this phone manages phone idle. It is typically not over 5% for me, whereas on my s6 edge, it would get around to 23% of battery consumption. The S6 line was a good footprint, but the S7 is what the s6 line should have been.

My s7 dies as much as my previous phone. I had to buy a back up charger pack. I barely get 5 hrs of power, even though my phone is just on. I'm not texting, Facebook, etc and battery dies.

Have you looked to see if there are things running in the background that shouldn't be, or that you aren't aware of?
