Galaxy S7 default messaging app freezes once daily

[AC Question]

After the latest Android version upgrade the default app will be frozen once a day. I can open the app, but I am unable to scroll/open threads/or start new messages. If i reboot the phone I can again do all these things no issues, but at sometime in the next 24 hours it will freeze again. I have cleared the cache, and this has had no effect. And I have auto delete on for messages so I do not believe it is an issue of a too large thread.

As long as you don't need to keep any messages saved, try also Clear Data for the Messaging app.

Thanks for posting this. I thought it was just me.
