Screen Major Glitch Out

I've uploaded a short screen capture:
https://youtu.be/7_Sd9M7GTe8

Mainly when I'm playing a game in landscape mode, the screen looks like it changes pixel dimensions for a split second then shows the S-Cover screen and the only way it goes back to normal is if I take my fingers off the screen and point the screen to the light in the room.
If I turn the phone 180° (so the sensors are on the top side of the phone when it's in landscape mode) and it happens 90% less than the other way its flipped.
Today it happened when in portrait mode while using Google drive app....I went to long press something to select it & every time i did, the screen came up.

It happens a lot quicker if I touch the screen while its having its mental breakdown.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Oreo 8.0.0
(Rooted with TWRP - Problem existed prior to root)

Welcome to Android Central! I'm not 100% sure, but I think the S Cover, like most flipcovers, uses a magnetic sensor in the phone's bezel to detect when the flipcover is open or closed. Sometimes the magnet that's embedded in the flipcover is too strong, and can actually trigger the sensor when the cover is folded back against the rear of the phone. Does this happen if the flipcover is not folded back?

If the S Cover works by using the proximity or ambient light sensors, then what happens if you completely cover those sensors while playing your game? Does it immediately activate the S Cover screen?
