Galaxy S7 rebooting all the time and failing to start most times.

My S7 is doing the same thing, it also freezes and the only way to clear it is to use the power and volume keys to restart it.

I work with Android app developers and they thought it might have been a bad OS upgrade but a factory reset hasn't helped at all and in fact today it got stuck on the home key and the battery went from 88% to 39% in about 20 minutes.

The phone was extremely hot and I had visions of the battery exploding. Have taken it back to get looked at but I am comforted to see it might be more wide-spread than just my phone

well Ive dumped my S7 edge , currently sitting in pieces after I pulled it apart for a look . A very small crack in the screen which occurred after the freezing crashing meant the place I bought it off refused to accept it for a warranty.
So I bought a A5 instead for 500 bucks. Don't know If I will go for a fragile expensive S8 later.

I thought it was just me, have this exact issue. Used Odin to reinstall firmware, sometimes it works sometimes it restarts even then. But as soon as I try to install TWRP out install a custom rom making sure the procedure is right, it has random restarts either immediately or after a couple days or a week.

I do recall it happening around end of 2016.

Having the same issues! Should've suspected something because the first time I charged it when I bought it it happened, then went away for about a year and 3 months ago the rebooting came back. Fixed with a simple factory reset but now it's back again. Yesterday it was really serious, kept rebooting, had to wait till the battery died out until I can quit the boot loop. Just came back from the customer care with a formatted motherboard but the problem is still here. Suspected motherboard damage. I'm using an exynos chip. Don't wanna spend half the phone's cost just to replace the motherboard when it's obviously not our fault it's faulty =( Any thoughts?

I have a major issue with my S7, I have had it around 30-40 days and over the last three it started to reboot for no apparent reason. yesterday this changed from maybe once a day to constantly throughout the day and even not starting up at all.

I have run a delete of cache and a factory reset, these did not help with the issue but the factory reset has allowed me to start up my phone. If I try to install anything or operate any apps my phone freezes and restarts (sometimes sticks on Galaxy boot screen), on restart it displays a padlock which opens and then takes me to a screen to unlock my phone with the passcode but not my normal lock screen.

I have phoned my service provider who told me to take into a shop and they will send it off for repair/inspection not knowing how long it will take, obviously i'd love to avoid this and keep my phone but have failed to find a solution as of yet.

If anyone has any advice it would be great thanks,

Dan

Same problems, get rid of the google play Store. It eats battery and causes the reboots. Took me two days to solve...
