Galaxy s7 screen won't rotate and setting is missing

It was working fine a few days ago suddenly my screen won't rotate and the setting to turn it on and off is gone.

It was happened to me also and it made me crazy, through a lot of searching and browsing to find out the solution, walay (arabic expression), I was so really got sucked on my ignorance and foolishness hahaha, it is easy that the "portrait" icon to be selected to make it auto rotate. I never think of it as the same in printing selection as "portrait" & "landscape" only. Well, it's just an easy folks. Select "portrait" to change it in "Auto rotate".

This worked! Who in their right mind would change the name of a feature based on whether it was "off" or "on"???? Thanks *very* much for this "fix"!

I had the same issue and it appeared to be a function of the most recent update.

The autorotate no longer appears under Settings \ Accessibility.

By the way, the icon may look more like a lock than a portrait, but this technique of pulling it down from the top does work.

I had the same problem it is the portrait button if you have lost the auto rotate icon just hit the portrait and your auto rotate comes back

I dunno. Seemed obvious to me. Portrait mode vs landscape. Those were the terms used for screen orientation for at least 30 years now. When I saw the portrait toggle, to me it was like, oh nice, it changes icons if locked or auto.

It just happened to me , slide down from the top of your phone, all your one touch icons there, you will see portrait touch that to turn auto rotate back on. Hopefully that the problem.

Yay the portrait thing suggested from Drsdarjr00 worked for me...

why would they name it portrait touch in the pull down settings and then change it to the rotate screen logo after the change??? very confusing

The auto rotate missing icon ???

Find "portrait" icon... tap and turns back into your "auto rotate" icon.

Yes two finger drop down so all icons show up look for portrait and push it so it goes back to auto rotate thanks glad no reset
