Galaxy s7 speakerphone issues for other party

I just got new S7s for both my wife and I and we have identical issues. When we talk on speakerphone, we can hear the other party clear as a bell, but they say that we are cutting in and out. If we take it off speakerphone, they hear us clear as a bell. I don't think it's an app issue if we both have the same phone with Sam's issue. My wife never added anything to her phone. What do we do?

Same problem here. Not sure if I need to return the phone as hardware defect or if it's software related.

Re: Galaxy s7 speakerphone issues for other party

Just checked my verizon s7, comes through loud and clear. Had some go outside and use the speaker and i was able to hear them just fine.

Sent with my white Note5 with nonremovable back and no SDcard!

I am OP. I took mine back to store (US Cellular) and they don't think it's a hardware issue. They want to do a factory reset to see if it solves the issue. I didn't have time to go through the process last night so when I do, I will report back unless someone else confirms that it worked.

From reading this forum for the last 3 weeks or so, it seems like it might be wise to do a factory reset as soon as you get the phone, but, at the same time, I don't understand how that would improve anything if you've not added anything (yet) and a FR resets the phone to factory (which is just the state it was in a few minutes before you did the FR). Does that make make sense to anyone else? lol

Just got off the phone with my Verizon support with this same issue.
Here is his response of our chat
KURTIS: First, go into your Apps > Settings > Advanced Calling
KURTIS: You will want to turn off the Advanced Calling feature
KURTIS: Advanced Calling allows your calls to go through Data instead of the normal calling network. It works great in places with strong signal (cities, etc)
KURTIS: It's supposed to give you crystal clear calling in HD, but with low signal it can have the opposite effect

I have not tried it but am hopeful this will work -

The newest software update seems to have cured my issue. I was getting seriously annoyed as I never realized how much I talk on speakerphone until I couldn't use it!

Issue returned soon after software upgrade. Took phones for factory reset which didn't help. Got 2 new phones and first few calls worked...now same issue again. I tried looking for advanced calling like Tamme posted but that isn't an options under settings on my S7

I have been experiencing the same issue. I am now on my 3rd replacement phone from the warranty department of ATT!!! The same issue occurs every time!! No one can hear me when I'm on speakerphone. I am going to demand to get my money back. This is so unacceptable. Has anyone resolved this issue?

I think I'm going to finally switch an iPhone after all this. It's a shame because the phone is so good otherwise. But the basic functionality of speakerphone doesn't work.

I too am having the same issue. I can hear the other party crystal clear on speakphone but the person I am talking to says there is a lot of feedback, echo and muffling. This happens on every call, anywhere and anytime. Once you take the call off of speakerphone the other party hears me perfectly. I have returned the phone and it looked like it was fine but eventually did the same thing.
I am with Verizon Wireless and I have turned off Advanced Calling ( HD, Voice Privacy and Wifi Calling ) but doesn't help. I have reset the phone and put it in SAFE MODE but no change.
I just got off the phone with Samsung and they want me to take into a Samsung store to evaluate. I upgraded from an S6 and really starting to think this is going to be a known issue.

If anyone finds something out I would greatly appreciate it - thanks in advance.

GS7 (Bell) user here in Canada and I keep having people tell me the same thing. I believe it has something to do with the noise cancelling mic because it mostly happens when it's speakerphone to speaker phone and i'm in my car. Either way, I fail to understand how a factory reset (suggested by the local dealer as well) will help.

Totally annoying and unacceptable when it's illegal to drive with the phone in your hand.

People were reporting soon after release that the speaker sounded muffled/garbled after water immersion. Some other posters stated that it was the nature of the speaker that in order to be water resistant it had some sort of mod done to it from the factory that was inhibiting the sound quality from one end or the other, sometimes both, this even without any water contact. So if it's a characteristic of the waterproofing qualities then it's an absolute fail. Not saying this is the issue just relaying what I have read.

I might have resolved my issue and I must say I am very surprised. After a replacement, reset and flash from the Samsung service center my issue remained. On accident I was using my phone with out the case and the issue seemed to disappear. The case I was using was rather thick and had separate holes for the speaker and external speakerphone microphone. I bought a Otterbox Commuter which has one large hole for both and the issue seems to be resolved. I am still hesitant on how that could cause all these issues but for now the issue seems to have resolved itself. Please try this and let us know if it might have been your issue too.

I didn't have my case on when I used the speakerphone, and it's still an issue. Has anyone find the solution to this? I'm so frustrated...what about Galaxy Note 5? Does this one have the same issue? :(

I just bought my phone less than a week ago. I thought it was awesome until my family started complaining about the speaker phone quality. They said I would break up or sound far away. Once I removed the speaker phone, they said I was crystal clear. I upgraded from my s4 to s7. This is very upsetting and frustrating considering the cost of the s7 is the same as a decent laptop or desk top without monitor. Based on everyone's comments to this thread, I am afraid this may be a design flaw. I am going to contact AT&T first but will also contact Samsung. This is not acceptable and I cannot go back to an IPhone.:-

Re: Galaxy s7 speakerphone issues for other party

Are you all using cases which may be blocking some microphone or something? Try without a case and see if it improves. Just a thought.

exactly the same for me, well this sux. I've had 3 previous HTC's and loved them, they just wouldn't keep the charge so I had to change. can't believe I got a new phone with this speakerphone problem.
