Galaxy S8 and Android Auto Pioneer AVH-4200NEX

It was working fine with my huawei mate 9. My s8(new as of yesterday) works with my unit but I am missing all of my media apps except for google play(no pandora or tunein). Any idea how to address this? It is running the lates firmware.

Check with the Huawei service department (or wherever you got the Pioneer) to see if Pioneer has an update.

Bluetooth specifies how data gets from point A to point B - but it doesn't (yet) specify the format of the data in all cases, so sometimes there's a mismatch. One day the industry will fix that. (They fixed the MMS problem - in 2004 you couldn't send an MMS from a phone on one carrier to a phone on a different carrier - different data formats again.)

i checked the pioneer website. They say there are issues with usb c and their units They recommend specific brands. I will try one of these.

Try uninstalling your apps and re-downloading them from the Play store. I was having similar issues with none of my apps but Google Play Music showing up in AA from my S8, but reinstalling those apps seems to have done the trick.
