Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will only receive quarterly security updates now

I'm guessing this will happen to my Note 8 once it hit's the 3 year date in October.

I have a Galaxy S8 Plus on AT&T purchased October 2017. The last security patch I received was March 2020. Shouldn't I have received the June 2020 security patch by now?

Being on AT&T, ya' get it when ya' get it.

Yes, Samsung rolled out the June 2020 patch for the S8 series a month ago, but AT&T likes to sit on those things a while. Especially if your phone is two models old, or older.

They haven't even released the last two patches for their S9 line, which is still on the monthly patch schedule.

Yeah, we have an S8 with a cracked screen that is now used as a "house phone" (the number we give out whenever a home phone number is needed... for whatever reason).

It just got that same June 1 update too.

Yeah, but it's winding down. Probably just two more quarterly updates to the end of the year and it's done.

That's still a hell of a lot better than TCL has ever accomplished with their DroidBerry's.

But then, almost any manufacturer has equal or better support than TCL lol
