Galaxy S8 and Note 7 and S8 Plus side by side

Agree, the S8 Plus is a little narrower than the Note 7. I'm hoping the Note 8 gets some width added to it, feels better in my hands. I've had the Note 4, Note 5 and all black note 7... the Note 7 has been my favorite phone to date, I was really bummed to have to turn it in.

Width of gs8 plus is rumored 74mm and no one knows anything about note 8 yet

No I was thinking the very exact same thing. I currently have a note 5 technically as a backup phone and a new s7edge on T-Mobile Jump I by far prefer the Note 5 its wider

I do.... whats the point of a taller phone besides marketing for samsung in the hopes of people with smaller hands will purchase the phone while hopefully not losing everyone else... my important real estate on my phone is lower half side to side... most of my uptops is used by things like weather widgets clocks and so forth. thats my thinking anyway. i have no problem handling the note phones or my 5.9 mate 9. not really interested in losing side by side for a taller phone. but thats just me.(although this may change when i actually hold the thing).... but for now i'll pass and wait for the note 8.

I sorta feel the same way, I'm loving the prospect of 6.2 phone, but really like it a little wider.

I'm not sure, from rumors, that the note is gonna be any wider. Would be nice.

Have you seen the LG G6? That thing looks awesome with it's narrower frame. Much more comfortable to hold and operate. I welcome this change. I said year's ago larger phones were too wide and tough to operate with one

Thanks very much for the photo jamezr. I'm definitely leaning towards the smaller S8 variant. 5.7" inches is already quite big but it seems a more manageable size. I just hope the S8 Plus doesn't end up like the HTC U Ultra and get bad reviews for being too big to handle. Portability is an important factor especially when you are caring that device in your pocket

Very keen to see what the reviews say.

I'm trying really hard to wait on the note 8, but that 8 plus looks good. my sister is getting one so I'm going to just play with hers to make a final decision . I claimed that I would hold on to this s7 edge for at least a year. Lol

We won't hear the official Note 8 specs until it's official release date whenever that is but there'll be a lot of estimations and discussions about it.

Can't wait to hear about its specs! I'm sure, like you've said, there will be a tonnage of discussion surrounding that! I'm really hoping Samsung nails it with this phone!
