Galaxy S8 Edge lighting for WhatsApp notifications

Hi guys,

Using my Galaxy S8 SM-G950F, edge lighting notifications are not working for WhatsApp.

I place the phone face down with screen off and send myself WhatsApp texts. No edge lighting.

Does not work when screen is on either. Just the little purple/blue bubble notification is seen.

The face down edge lighting works great for phone calls and SMS messages.

Has anyone got it working with WhatsApp or anything else?

I just tried it on WhatsApp and it is working but the new Edge lighting is very minimalistic. I actually left the screen face up and I still saw it. It was just a very thin blue line around the entire phone.

I have a case on the phone and I'm honestly not sure that I would even see the edge lighting if it was face down with the case on. It's too bad, the edge lighting was one of my favorite features.

Follow up, I don't see the lighting when the screen is locked. Only when it's on. That's very odd.
